On 15 May 25, our association organised a festive banquet at the very moment when parliament voted by a 2/3 majority to relaunch nuclear power in Belgium: 104 votes in favour, 8 against and 31 abstentions.
Many of the academic, industrial and political figures who worked for this historic moment were present.
After 22 years under the sway of a stupid law that imposed the shutdown of nuclear power for no reason, our efforts have been crowned with success.
Well done to our Minister Mathieu Bihet (on the photo, with our chairman Henri Marenne) for getting this law passed at the start of his term of office. This is a good sign that rapid progress is being made to rebuild our country’s nuclear fleet.
Nuclear power is not only saved, it is more popular than ever.
