Net zero, a very bad idea

The 100TWh association is opposed to extreme visions, such as the total elimination of something (net zero) or 100% of something else (100% renewable).

These are utopias that are harmful to society.

Decarbonisation, i.e. the gradual reduction in our dependence on fossil fuels, is desirable for a number of reasons. For the impact of CO2 emissions on global warming, but also to reduce our dependence on imported energy extracted elsewhere… But it must be done gradually and without unrealistic and unsustainable targets.

As a think tank on energy issues in our society, 100TWh is committed :

1. For a measured, reasonable and affordable decarbonisation ;

2. Against the ideology of degrowth and the absurdity of the European Green Deal ;

3. For the inclusion of competitiveness in the objectives of decarbonisation ;
